Whenever the month of Ramazan comes, Muslims become hyper-sensitive with respect to their religion. It’s as if all their sins would be washed away in a single month. Don’t get me wrong, Ramazan has it’s ‘more than fair’ share of virtues but the hypocritical nature of Muslims disgusts me! A whole year passes by, with Muslims indulging in all sorts of sins but as soon as Ramazan comes, they turn into ’self-proclaimed slaves of Allah’.
During this month, we see a LOT of religious programs with ‘hate-spewing self-delared-aalim jaahil’ anchors and commercials with religious inclinations. Now, people may see this as an act of servitude to Allah but I think otherwise. These people are using Ramazan to make more and more money, by exploting the ’sudden need to be near Allah’ amongst the people. In other words, they are selling Ramazan!

emm…. I am not against all this though..:S
Its like every other ritual in every other country in the sense that it is a target of marketing campaigns. I think people also like seeing such ads during this month, but yes the sudden abundance of religious programming during this month is kinda hypocritical in a way.
what about the price hike? in west they tries to slash the prices during xmas time but here…
You are entitled to your opinion…
These people come up with things like “Ahteram-e-Ramazan” prices and “Coke Ramazan”, now how did they brand Ramazan as Coke Ramazan? To what depths can they fall to earn a few dollars?
Yeah, Pepsi is five rs. cheaper in Ramazan.
That’s just to make people buy more and more of their products and they are able to cover the loss of low prices and earn extra profits by the no. of increased sales.
Oh, everything is commercial! they just need an excuse to make money!
WHAT Other stuff you are buying cheap other then soft drinks ?
Haleeb, ehteram-e-ramazan package, remember?
haleeb.. root level par check karoo .. nagoori shop milk price increased…. and thats what more pakistani ppl are using ..
Well, their bad!
Should’ve had more sense during the elections!
that sense u will never see in future also i bet …
This is how marketing works. Azan on phone, Aalim on mobile, ehteraam ramazan or hashmi ispaghol
Instead, I was more curious to know more about the sudden mushrooming of so many welfare organizations and NGO’s suddenly asking for Zakat paying such hefty amount for the airtime. Wonder how they spend money??
I don’t hope so man, I don’t hope so but I believe you are right. :S
Further proves my point that we are a bunch of hypocrites. And then we wonder why America and the West are better off than us!
Yeah as if all os us need just 5 rs cheaper pepsi in Ramdhan =\
Aaata hay nahi par oil tu khooob hi hay =\
Chalo oil bhi nahin per Pepsi to hai, woh bhi paanch rupay kam qeemat main!
i completely disagree on the ads… this is all marketing campaign which goes all around the world… Ramadan in Karachi or Xmas in new york…
these kind of commercial are seen allover the world on special occasions…
and you have no right to call a Aalim a JAHIL… please prove what are you calling him JAHIL for?
You have the right to disagree.
As for my calling an ‘aalim’ jahil, do you know who I’m talking about?
who ever you are calling a jahil brother he is a Aalim as you mention and placing the word jahil with an Aalim is unacceptable…
I never mentioned he was an aalim. I only said he was a “self-declared-aalim” jahil “anchor”. Now that doesn’t make him an aalim does it? Not with all the fake degrees and the tinted-car-glasses episode?
